Integrating your ever changing family needs into your existing home can be tricky. Its even more complex when an additional living space and independence is required. For this design we were tasked to design a separate "Granddad" flat at the front of the existing family home, while seamlessly integrating into the aesthetic, maintaining the functionality and providing for the co-living arrangement. Due to limitations of setbacks and the current positioning of the house on the block, we had to jump start our creative juices to come up with a plan that will meet the clients needs, whilst satisfying the parameters set out by Brisbane City Council. The end result is soon to come, but here is some conceptual design images of the progress thus far.
